| upper link mounting/length
I'm pretty happy with my setup right now, but have a question. i know ideally the upper links should be as close as possible to the same length as the lowers. the problem I've run in to is to make the rear uppers as long as possible I've mounted a TLT stay on top of the rear servo plate. i get almost no torque twist, but a bit of axle steer since the uppers are "behind" the lowers a bit. I could shorten the uppers and mount them on the servo plate right above the lowers and I think that would take out the axle steer, but wouldn't it make the pinion angle change throughout the cycling of the suspension? besides pinion angle no longer being consistent, would there be any other negative effects? I guess I would just like to hear form others, before drilling, about their experiences. Also would shorter uppers add any torque twist? Right now uppers are 105mm eye to eye and the lowers are 112mm. I'd be shortening the uppers to 95mm to get 'em right above the lowers. Thoughts? thanks guys! PS if needed I'll put some pics up. Just can't find tha camera at the mooment. Last edited by solomon7; 10-09-2008 at 01:08 PM. |
