Default rocker gaurds-more clearance!

i figured out a way to get more clearance on those rocker gaurds and still keep them on.
i dont have pics at the moment as i havent done the mod myself yet but here is what to do, its so easy:
first and if you havent already, take the rocker gaurd off, look underneath it, see that groove? i bet the rocker will fit right into that wont it? yep! so cut off the rocker gaurds at the bends on each end. you have one straight rail now, here is the only part i havent really worked out, but i guess you could crazy glue it onto the rocker. this adds clearance and still keeps those rockers from damage.

something about not using screws to hold them on bothers me. would crazy glue be enough to keep them on while bashing them off rocks?

sure it would! i mean if they can glue a monitor to a wall (its a whole other thread) im sure crazy glue can hold those on. i guess clear caulk would do it too...
i guess you could drill holes through the body/gaurd and mate something up. just like on a real jeep!
just trying to be a little creative.

Yeah! I'd really like to see a write-up and pics on a tummy tuck for the old girl.

well if you do a new paint job on it then this can help keep it decent looking. it does offer some protection. i want to keep the 'sheet metal' half way straight.
this might get you the best of both worlds...
however, ive got no idea on a tummy tuck, doesnt look possible based on the suspension...

Cool Rocker Guards

Just go to an auto parts store, get some door moulding trim and put it all around the body. Works great! They have it in chrome, black and clear. Has its own sticky too!

Check it out...

there are little spacers on teh rockers to keep them off the bottomof the tub...if you trim them off you can actually inset your rails into the rockers...like this:
