Default radioshack crawler...hahahahaaa

my son had a few old radio shack r/c's in a box in the garage (this one was called the "invader") that didn't have controllers and he wanted a crawler...I said let's make one out of these and he laughed at me! you would think he knew me better than that by now... but anyway...a few hours later we had this... doesn't have any shocks because it doesn't need them. the suspension doesn't actually compress it just articulates. it uses a 9.6v pack because they are much lighter than the standard 7.2's and the battery had to be mounted above the driveshaft and leave enough room for the driveshaft to move around.the tires are a little too hard so I am going to make some adapters to use standard 2.2 rims and get him some mashers...the diffs are locked with bondo (yes it works great) and it still has a hi/lo selector on the rear axle...it has a 380 motor in the rear gearbox and a long dogbone type driveshaft running to the front axle (I cut it and welded in a piece of steel rod to lengthen it) the original wheelbase was around 8 inches and now it's almost 13. this thing flexes like mad and has plenty of power to climb...oh yea it uses a futaba servo, reciever and ESC. the body is just one I had lyin around...

Calling Mnster!

He built his first crawler off that truck, and I built a hill climber off the axles. Too bad the gears are weak.

I have some pics but my hosting site is down so until later.

Yeah it's very similar same exact axles. Except mine used the stock chassis and had a Titan 550 for power. I ran the stock esc for a while till one day it lit on fire I guess 10 cells and the 550 were to much. Now its resting in pieces the axles kinda self destructed. The brass bushing by the drive shaft is really really soft so keep it oiled. If you need axle parts I could maybe hook you up.

Here is some pics of it.

It's a TLT with some crappy tires, wheels, and axles.

Can U just wire up that steering servo (stock one) to a plug and plug it into a recever? (for use with a Futaba radio)

if you look closely you will see that's an actual servo I have on this one...but the placement in the steering linkage didn't allow it to turn very sharp...so I redid it and now the servo lays flat in front of the axle and has a direct steering linkage and a skid plate under it all...much better. so the answer to your question is no.
