Default need help fixing remote... throttle problems

eh, i dunno what you guys see in them. maybe i just dont have enough time with it.

i painted the cage black, ( i got the jeep ) i got rid of the plastic tarp piece which imo makes it look 100x better. cut 4 coils from the springs, drilled out the hubs and mounted the front wheels on backwards.

i took it out this weekend and messed around with it maybe 2 minutes before i put it aside... the response from the radio blows. i tried to 'feather' the throttle and half the time it had a mind of its own and stayed on for about a second or two after i let off the throttle. steering has the same issues.

any fix for that other than upgrading the elecs? i can deal with on/off throttle and steering, but i want it to go on and off when i tell it to, not whenever it feels like it.

I think this has to do with the slider mechanism inside the controller. I took mine apart and stretched the tiny spring just a little to hold the contact tighter against the circuit board and it seems a lot better.

Also make sure you are using a new battery in the controller.

Someone was talking about putting different "micro" switches in the controller.

I mentioned changing out to microswitches.. I took my 1:18 controller apart and it literally has a peice of metal that slides back and forth for the throttle. The steering has a wire that touches two other wires for right and left.

One could swap out these cheesy controls for something a little more robust like some microswitches, but it would take some work.
