| Weak Steering Components... need help
Finally had a chance to drive my new 1:6 crawler last night.. Put it through just about every obstacle I coudl find in the backyard. I did notice that the highsteer connection on the back of the steering knuckle on the driver's side tends to flex an awful lot when on rocks. The steering motor itself is powerful enough, but the steering components just dont seem to want to handle the rocks. With the flex I saw in the knuckle under light use, I'm a little concerned about the durability of the knuckle in that location. Anyone have any ideas on how to stiffen up this part? Comments? IMO, with the weight of these trucks, these things REALLY need some metal knuckles. Any chance we'll see something like this as an aftermarket part? |

You might be able to use a set of steering knuckles from another RC truck. Since I do not have a 1:6 I am unfamiliar with the size of them, but there may be a truck out there that with some fabbing could replace the stock one and be stronger.

I was thinknig of trussing some things with heavy copper or steel wire maybe as thinck as 1/8 inch and then using JB weld as an adhesive to double things up. JB weld is some serious tough stuff so maybe just a coat of that will help durability.
