| How to SCORE a SERIES....
I have been wondering what is the best way to score a series. Should you just use the score from the drivers run? Tally them thru out the series of 4 or 5 comps, or should you just award 1 point to 1st, 2 points to 2nd and so on down the line??? Should all comps be set up so that there are the same amount of courses thru out the series? If a competitor has an off day and does terribly at 1 comp but then turns it around next time what is the best method for scoring? In my opinion I think all comps in a series should have the same number of courses. As far as totaling the score from the comps I believe it is best to award 1 point for 1st, 2 for 2nd and so on down the line. Please give me your feedback on this subject.... |

SIRCC did 9 comps for 2008. You had to count 6 comps for the series. So if you ran all 9 comps, you threw out your worst 3 comps. You got points for your finish from each comp, total all your points from 6 comps at the end of the series and that's your series winner. 1st place finish = 10 Series points 2nd place finish = 9 Series points 3rd place finish = 8 Series points 4th place finish = 7 Series points 5th place finish = 6 Series points 6th place finish = 5 Series points 7th place finish = 4 Series points 8th place finish = 3 Series points 9th place finish = 2 Series points 10th place finish = 1 Series points 11th place finish = 0 Series points 12th place finish = 0 Series points etc...... etc...... This is how Nor-Cal scores theirs. - Series points will be given where first place will receive 250 points, second 245, third 240 and so on all the way to 50th place which will receive 5 points. Non series drivers will receive points for the event, but they will not be tallied in the final series standings. When tallying the series scores you'll receive points for the actual position you finish. - The driver with the best score on each course will get 1 bonus series point. - There are 8 events in the series. Only 7 will be scored for the series. This will allow you to drop your lowest score for the series if you attend all 8 events. |
