Default Pro-Line Epic Beadlocks and Switch Tires on a Crawler

I have been wondering this since I saw these introduced and yes the Front Epic Beadlocks DO work on an Axial. Just enough offset.

Here is a couple pics comparing 2.2 Badlands with ProLine's new Epic Beadlocks and Switch tires both designed for the Slash. I decent compromise for people wanting 1.9" size with 2.2 wheels. Great scale looking tire for a rock racer.

The Epic Beadlocks are WORLDS better than ProLine's previous beadlocks with the double beaded (internal bead and standard bead) tires, however I have only tried them on the two Switch tires. I will let you know how they work on Pro-Line's crawler tires.

OK So yes with low profile tires like the Switch tires and No with crawler tires like the pictured Moabs. Then end up rubbing... Damn. Maybe Pro-Line will offer these later with and extra 1/4" offset.

These really hold the bead tight and in my opinion, much better design than their original beadlock tires.

Below are I have turned a Switch tire inside out to show the double bead.

How soft are the Switch tires? They are M2 compound correct? I've got a set coming to me for my slash...

M2 compound. The foams are pretty firm, but with M2 they should be useble for rock racer style crawling. I would be that stuffing some soft memory foams in would give you just about the right tire tune for scale crawling.

Do the Epics hold the bead well on the Moabs and other non-Switch tires?

Couldnt you drill a new hole to mount the linkage farther back on the knuckle? Or if Im not mistaken CKRC has knuckles that give the links alittle more clearance.

These look neat..I have a set of the Epics and a set of the tires...had the mfor my Slash..still run them on the front..but I run SC10 wheels out back now...

they look like they would work pretty good on a scaler rig...I'll have to see..that's if I get my SCX10 Honcho for X-Mas..:P
