here are some pics of my micro unimog made with three micro servos one for steering the front axle and two as motors without the internal variable resistor

That's a very cool little mog. How did you make both wheels driven on the servos?

With the potentiometer removed, there is nothing under the final output gear, and you can drill straight through for an axle shaft. I did the same thing to build a transmission when I was working on a 1:24 build. How does the steering work? Does the whole servo turn (wagon style)?

you're right, the axle through the entire servo and is glued to the final gear, there's a screw through the chassis plate in the front and two nuts glued to the front servo for the steering , the whole servo turns it's the only reliable way to make steering and 4wd I found at this scale
I know germans made some 1:87 trial truckwith worm gear , lemo motor , drive cups and dogbones but it's really crazy

i know germans too. they always make crazy stuff. haha. but seriously they do. Cool truck, gives me some ideas on a servo driven micro crawler that i had put on the back burner. Thanks for the tech/inspiration.

I'll try to make one this weekend ,
I did replace the 6x micro-sizer size battery pack (1/3AAA 200mah ) by one lipo from a wrecked picooZ helicopter, the CoG was greatly improved and 3.7 volts is enough for the receiver to work , now I need to put some springs for the articulation cause the rear wheels sometimes get caught in the dump unders, needless to say it makes an horrific sound of gears when it occurs ..

Your truck has inspired me to begin my own micro crawler. Thanks for the ideas.:-P

I will use a 5cell 1/2 AAA pack and my collection of hs-55 clone servos.
