I bought the big tube of white lithium grease from walmart for $2 and filled the entire diff. I have been running like that for 2 months will no ill effects. I also gained 4oz of weight down low per axle from the grease. Some will say it is a waste but considering it will take $10 in stick on wheel weights to do the same thing I thought it was reasonable.

I used white Lithium grease until I discovered Rocksmith's "GearJelly" he's got some secret stuff in his compound that holds and actually penetrates into the gear surfaces like skunk smell on a dog. I originally bought it for use in my R2D tranny thats how he advertises it.(their noisy) and it made it sound like a watch. So when cleaning my axles one day I tried some there as well (RCP copper R/P noisy) now my rig is basically silent.

i was thinking of using napa anti-seize grease that you get in the plastic grey bottle with the brush in the cap that's use to keep stuff on cars and trucks sliding and without nuts and bolts seizing...........bob .... |

| That is more or less for bolt. Objects that shouldn't move. Marine grade trailer bearing grease works really well. Thick, water resistant and very smooth.

| Never thought of that. I used to use it in my Mt bike years ago. Just make sure what ever you use it does not attack plastic. Some petroleum based grease will attack plastic. Last edited by tk5028; 11-06-2008 at 06:59 PM. |
