becasue the pulson axles wernt made on an assymbly line so theres not 4675847365237848954 of them , that and they run 250 a pair, if I could afford some id have some myself. Also I think the diffs cant handle huge power but dont quote me on that

I would say because bergs are $200, and easily available. Also the plastic ring and pinon is a big turn off for most, although they held up very well in my ntc3, however I don't know that they would hold up to 7t puller and the sticky 5.5" tires on my rig

I got mine dialed in pretty good right now. So far have been able to keep from tearing up the R&P and have been poping my pede shafts off. Poulsons are expensive $250 for a pair vs axials and even bergs thats probably the main reason they are not everywhere. I have plans on changing the TC3 diff for something a little different BTW hardhead is that your rig in the pic?

| Plastic R/P would suck. The G/C on the Poulson axles sells them to me. As for the bergs the G/C is not as impressive the motors look like they drag alot.

Availibility is the main downfall to them in comparison to Axial, as well as price in comparison to the Axials.

The Poulson axles are great axles and I loved them but the reliability of the plastic gears was the problem. At every SERCRC or other club comp in the south, the courses are built very tough and brutal on your rig. The ring and pinion never held up. I could get them to last only thru 2-3 courses (sometimes not even that) even with them properly shimmed by Mr. Poulson himself. If someone would make some metal gears for them, then they would be great. They are great and give you that extra clearance on the axles but when you cant keep gears in them, then ........ well you get it here is a build thread I did when I had mine As far as availability, pm this man. The axles are not limited but if he doesnt have any made, then you will just have to wait for him to build some for you. He is a great guy and will work with you on them and help you out if you have any questions or problems Last edited by yukon635; 11-19-2008 at 07:47 AM. |
