Default how much is too much for these?

In the 1:1 world there's just a level where it's "too much" for the stock platform after a certain level of modification. I would love to modify my 1:6, but my question is how much of it can really handle what mods will make it capable of? Let's say I tuck the tummy and then figure out a way to get some bigger tires on there. Now the steering will suck even more than it already does. So I figure out a way to fix that. Now the axles are the weak point. Axles keep breaking. So I ditch the axles for something stronger. Then I upgrade to Hobby-electronics. Now all I have left is the battery, chassis, and maybe some of the suspension that I spent $150 on.

I'm thinking maybe the Nylint's aren't the best for all out modding like some of us like to do, but maybe best kept in a very close to stock form. It's SOOO not like me to just "leave well enough alone" but I think with these 1:6's it's the best thing to do.

Kinda just thinking out loud here. Debating on whether to mod up the 1:6 or keep it as is and build my own.

Agreed. I'm not putting any money into it besides paint. Just modifying what i have. More articulation and travel won't hurt anything.

im not really going to mod mine either, its not really built up for that, the platform itself is just fine. Paint, Tire siping and a good driver is all it needs really. I plan on just having fun and not conquering the world with it. :-P

I will have mine with me over at Bill and eM's afterwards, but I may be too involved screaming BOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!! at Bill to paint mine. I'd be up for some crawling though. Just be sure to bring yours down here for KFM night. That spot down the street from us is awesome for crawling. Played around in there again today for about an hour.
