Default 4 Wheel Steering Pics

Finally took pics. The paint looks weird in the flash because I used a clearcoat that is used on stuff for high night visibility. It reflects direct light, but is clear otherwise. I have a few bugs left to work out with the 4WS, but it's alot of fun so far. I've also inboarded the rear shocks, but that's it so far. Here is a direct link to the pics: http://community.webshots.com/album/437442280MFXuSR
If that doesn't work, go http://community.webshots.com/user/f0cker there and click on R/C Jeep.

Check the album again, I updated it with more pictures earlier tonight. I'm gonna try to get some more tomorrow if I get a chance to take it out.

My guess is he got an updated chassis and used his leftover front steer axle

Its a direct bolt in deal

as for the wiring he either used the board from the other one so it has its own circuits OR he used the easy to see color coded wires and simply soldered the rear steer axle wires directly to the board where the front steer wires are

But with a front axle in the front it will receive the proper signal but be backwards

I considered something like this but with an "ABC" switch so i could flip the signals, you know... A - Wired color to color, rear axle turns opposite of front. B - Rear axle is off and in centered position. C - Rear axle control wires are reveresd for a crab walk effect.

Nope, I canabalized one of that chassis that I had (I have 4 total between me and my brothers) and stuck the rear end under a different Jeep. The wiring is spliced in with the original harness, but I wired the steering motors in backwards so it would turn correctly. It's so much more fun than regular steering.

[/QUOTE] Yup, here's where it gets sticky!!!!!

Yup. here's where it gets stickier !!!!

Anything is doable but to what end??? "KISS" is a good motto in this situation so I'm interested to know the path that was chosen.

I know that front axle is huge. So does it take up more room and get hung up more?

Not really, I can steer around most of the big things and those that I can't I just find ways to power over.

You are the man of the hour and I salute you!

I'm going to give this mod a swing as soon as I can get Nylint to send me another four warranty replacement upgrade chassis.

 It will piss you off at first, but it's worth it. I'm the only person that I know of that has done this, maybe Nylint should send me free stuff?
