| X-Hybrid UPDATE- cut tires/skid/REVO DRIVESHAFTS!!! PICS!
Sup guys, the u-joints for Revo driveshafts finally came in at the lhs! These things are Beef! Surprisingly I didn't have to cut the rubber boots off. I have a 16 1/4"wheelbase, emaxx tranny, and bft pinions in the x-axles. Worked out nicely! Before with the 2.5 sliders, if I went from reverse to forward real fast I could hear the sliders cracking and twisting. NOT THESE THO! Did a trial run in the backyard with em ....haven't tested em on the rocks yet but I can tell they're gonna hold up GREAT! X-axles, E-maxx tranny, and Revo shafts...hmm.... I guess you can call it a "RE-Maxx Factor" Also got the skidplate made. I heated it up to make the bend and I used a wooden block to hammer it out. It had laminate on it so when it touched the heated plate it melted off onto it. I kinda like how it looks tho! ....All rusty looking.....lol! Still gotta drill the holes to mount it I'm also experimenting with xtm white springs in the upper shocks as they're softer than the yellow ones I had before finally got my tires cut. I took the lugs I cut off and glued em to the side w/ IC-2000 creating sidebiters. Also mounted the mgt tires on mgt wheels for more positive offset. Before I had the widemaxx Clawz and got hung up alot. Much better now. Also trying out some bb's now. I don't have a scale so I used a measuring cup for cooking. Added about 1/4cup in each front tire and about half that in each rear. This'n here is one heavy sumbitch now! 5 1/2" clearance under the tranny! and with the mgt wheels, the tires rubbed severely on the bushwacker flares so off they went....along with the bumpers and rocker guards also you can see the small boo boo I made in the left tire when I was cutting ...nothing a lil ic-2000 couldn't handle! I just took one of the lugs I cut off and stuffed it in there and sealed it up. This glue is awesome... No crawler should be without it IMO! Whadya guys think so far? Next phase will involve tweaking the suspension and lowering the cog even further. -Chris |

Thanks alot guys! Willyrocket: can't wait to see the new booger!!! Terribleone: The tires seem to work great! The pattern I cut is really similar to the ones in the txt-article on here. It works really good! I think I wanna try to add some lugs going the opposite way kinda like Rockraider's setup. The sidebiters are crazy!!! They hook up too everything!!! Sometimes it seems like it's got too much traction!!! They jsut grab onto anything they can! Xfactor: I'm 24 thx for the props dude! |

Look at making the battery trays out of lexan. Its much lighter than the aluminum. I don't own that truck, so I can't be sure if it will work.

On that link also, do not get part #5453. You need the yokes with the setscrew to make it work. It's part#5458. Get 2 packages of these. u-joints #5452 - get 1 yokes #5458 - get 2 half shafts #5450 - get 1 |
