Default Copperhead w/ AX10 axles?

Looking at building a new rig here in the future.

Im probably going to get the Copperhead chassis. My LHS stocks all the AX10 parts and upgrades so I was thinking I would go with AX10 axles.
I can get the front and rear axles for under $100 total.

Then I figured I would run an R2 trans with a 55t lathe motor.
Not sure on the ESC yet, but I would run my TQ3 radio with rear steer mod.

Seems like it would work??? lol

Thanks

Also is the novak BL crawler kit much better than a 55t Lathe motor?

Worth the $$?

Sounds like a good start. I don't have any experience with the Novak. I prefer the Sidewinder and a good 45 or 55 turn motor.

Good luck with the build!

Im debating on either the R2 or R2D trans.

Definately going to use the AX10 axles and will most likely add 4ws.
Im leaning more towards the brushed route as well, since I already have a few ESC's laying around.
Probably go with a nice set of aluminum beadlocks as well. Any suggestions?

Just brainstorming for now lol.

For very little extra. Get the R2D. Even if you don't use it now, you can use it later.

Brushed is the way to go IMO.

There are ton's of options for beadlock wheels. Pick your poison. Make sure they are offset for the AX10 axles.

yeah I might as well get the R2D. Thinking about going with a droop suspension as well.

not sure if I wanna take the plunge into LiPo just yet.

For motor and esc you should surely go with the tekin fxr combo. They are so small and very capable! I would also get mayhem wheels! Might as well get the r2d even if you dont use it.

Try both and see what works best for you. I prefer sprung myself!
