I'm guessing that the rear motor is the one that cooked. Rear motors in Clods should be ran in reverse rotation. That's simple to do with stock (Mabuchi or Johnson) motors but the Speed Gems have advanced timing. Advanced timing and reversed wiring more than likely led to the death of your motor. |

If you reverse the wiring the motor will spin in the opposite direction of the other axle...not what you're after. What you need to do is find the timing mark on the motor can and the timing mark on the motor's endbell... Get a piece of paper, wrap it around the can and measure the distance between the timing marks. Now...use that measurement to move the endbell's timing mark to the opposite side of the can's timing mark. I hope this makes sense, I'm in a rush to head out to work. Jason |

there are more options, look up on tower hobbies multiplex permax 600 motors there good motors at an excelent price (i think 8 or 9 dollars each). I ran 2 in my crawler before i decided to build a shaft truck and they held up fine, ran very cool to.

now with a motor like that, do I still have to worry about wireing the rear in reverse and it burning out? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEXU3&P=7 |

And another option is go with the T-600 ferrite motor. Tower carries them. They have a forward and reverse motor both with three degree timing. They run about $14 each and have great torque if that is what you are looking for. I have two of them on digger and havent had any problems at all.

the multiplex motors have 0 degree timing so they can be wired either way
