Default titan crawler project

hey guys,

im attempting to build a custom rock crawler.. its a big ol radioshack nissan titan body on a custom frame. the wheelbase is gunna run bout 18- 18 1/4 inches. the frame is 25 3/4 long... im not really sure wat scale you'd call this size?!?! im shoot in fo perty realistic

gunna run wit:::

Axial axles..(deciding on if i want rear steer or not) u tell me!
savage shocks
pede tranny
itegy 55t lathe motor or sidewinder bundle
revo driveshafts
if wit out rear steer than futaba 2 channel
not sure if i want ta run lipos..


im kinda new to the rc rock crawlin but i do actual competition rock crawlin.. my buggy has a vortec 6.0 and dana 60 axles. wit coil overs.. ima need yall's help through this thing... i aint tha richest dude.. so dont try hittin me wit 400 dollar electronics and crap.. heres sume pics

tell me wat you think bout the frame.. its gunna be 1/2 tall. not 1/4... in tha pic its a 1/4 tall....

ill post pic when i figure out how!!!

AHHHH, need pictures! :-P

Sign up for photobucket.com it is very easy and handy to use.

When you get some pictures up I am interested to see this body, sounds to be about 1/6 scale.

i just signed up and bout ta send sum pics!! the body itself is lik 28 inches long by 10 1/2 wide... im trin ta mak the width from wheel ta wheel bout 11 1/2

you better double up the cardboard on that frame. might be a little too flexy like that.

ha ha.. yeah. its a template.. i guess i forgot to mention its gunna be made out of aluminum plate.. ha. my bad. im gettin the stuff sometime this week! i need yall's help through this!

im also gunna slap in the CC BEC...

Pretty cool. I love that Crew Cab body. I just did a King Cab scale version.

Here is mine. I finished it xmas eve for a gift for my son. But I started it 2 yrs ago.



There is a build thread on here.


I have seen a nice body like yours at toys r us a few years ago. When did you get that one? Its bigger than 1/10 scale correct?

man your crawlers look sweet. i cant wait to get mine operatable and do some adjustments.. i really dont know were i got it! my little cousin thought he'd give it to me b/c he knows im into the rc crap.. but. it looks like a toys r us rc!!

so heres everything on plan.

AX10 axles
pede tranny
TQ3 remote and reciever
CC sidewinder
CC BEC
Revo shafts
Savage shocks w/shock spring for now(test)
HPI Rock Grabber Tire S Compound 2.2 or i cant decide wit the flatirons!!
HPI ROCK 8 BEAD LOCK WHEEL BLACK CHROME
and of coarse. poor mans links!! haha

wheelbase 18 1/4
width 11 1/2
frame length 25 3/4 made out of laser cut 1/4" aluminum... and 1/2 tall..
