i've had my out on this one for a while. would love to get it but need to make sure there is a way of getting replacement parts first. i seen it on another site. i think they wanted some thing like 400 or 500 dollars without shipping. it seems to be ready to run. and i guess if it's worm gears there really isn't a need of a demanding great quality esc. you know what i mean, one of those cheapy esc's that come on most rtr's.

after looking at it more, it doesn't really look 1/10 or 2.2 class. i looks as if it is over 12.5 inches.

I've been looking at this crawler and waiting on some review ...give it a month or two we will see one I bet ...so far I have spoken directly about it to the Chinese who sell them but its slightly too expensive (also have tried to buy just the axles but they didn't agree to sell separately (yet:-P).

If I chase roadrunners with it will it explode and launch me straight into a rock wall?

Yeah I've seen that at the LHS, I think it was priced close to $400.

It can not get torque twist, the motor would have to be mounted to the chassis to produce twist.

It actually looks of decent quality. The rims are sick! I love them.

These axles look just as wide as bergs and bully's, but looks like the rim is whats making it so wide. the offset is completely opposite of what you need. new wheels and personalization, I see these in comps.

So can I just walk into my LHS and ask them for a replacement "ACME" motor? and do I ever show my face in there again?

Default AMAX-TOYS - I got two!

So, searching, looking and then ordering.

The staff were really good and I waited about 3 weeks in the end to receive a big carton with the TWO crawlers I ordered.

Appearing very well machined and with sufficient holes and metal to allow us to use this as a base for modification and upgrades.

Not having any other crawler here in Thailand to compare I can't help there. Meaty single piece axels, solid metal gear/work drive, lots of ball bearings and a tidy electronic installation.

It certainly crawls... really slow with that worm drive gearing. The twin motor drive simply powered in to walls and slopes and kept pushing.

Tyres seem a little hard and were slipping on most dry rock surfaces I have to hand.

That's where I have my only complaints so far...

1) The upper suspension arms on one model were putting the motor and hcnce front-rear track out, re-mounting on one available point solved that.

2) When taking the nice beadlock wheels apart the threads on the allen bolts were rock solid. I sheared two bolts, leaving half embedded in the wheel never to emerge. I've asked Carin at AMEX to send me a replacement.

However once the inserts were remove I got better performance on the rock.

For those concerned about parts, I think it would be simple to order and get them, but it's not like we can go to the hobby shop just yet.

AMEX do offer a no-electronics version of the model, but appears to be wholesale in cartons sets of 10 models only.

I'm off for a CRAWL!
