| TTR adapter problem...
Anyone running Thunder Tech Maxx Adapters having this problem? This is the second TTR hub that has spun the Tamiya brass hub. Thunder Tech replaced the first one free of charge but you can’t expect that every time. I also busted a rear slider yesterday @ the New England crawl and this wheel was mounted on the right rear. Any thoughts, ideas? Thanks, Joe |

I've had that problem on front and rear tyres of my txt. Also had problems with the bolt backing off too. I thought it was because the delrin wasn't built up enugh and it was just a week link. I have now Replaced them with Inet RC's aluminum wheel widener and maxx adapter havent had one problem yet. its not as cheap as TTR unit.. but are tough as hell. Mud_Flinger |

| Re: TTR adapter problem... I spun a Maxx wheel on the TTR hex.... after about 2 minutes with my new LST tires. Fixed that by drilling the TTR adapter and screwing it to the wheel. I haven't spun the adapter on the brass hex yet. Are you using Cold outer shafts? A spacer on the TXT shafts? I ran a 5x11 mm bushing behind the wheel nut at first (TXT outers) and the wheel still had movement, so I used two brass bushing per wheel. This tightens the brass hex and adapter up against the C-clip on the axle, so everything is pulled together real tight. So far everything's good, it just looks kinda funky with the wheel nut sticking out. |

Could you not run some sort of hose clamp around it to prevent the plactic from expanding?

Hi guys! Joe, I have the standard TTR TXT wideners on my TXT. The wheel side is different, but the hex side is the same. They've been on there for well over a year without any problems. I am not running any reduction like you are, I wonder if that is the difference? I think my truck is heavier, too. Maybe these tall and heavy TC tires will prove to be too much for the adaptors? Good luck with getting it back together Joe! Oh, and thanx for posting the pics from Lincoln Woods! Great pics, your camera rocks! Vince |
