hydro steer I have been thinking about this for a while now. how can I make a hydro steer setup. I was thinking taking a shock and putting preassure fittings on eather side and filling the holes on the valve in the shocks and connecting it to another shock via gas lines. a servo will move one shock mounted to the chassis. I was also thinking that some company (maybe Tamiya) made rc tractors which I think had hydrolic cylinders on it. could any of that work and would it be worth it? |
JasonInAugusta did it: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...ighlight=hydro And the video: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...ighlight=hydro |
where did you get those hydrolics? or did you make them and how? |
Yeah and he spent over 800 bucks on it! heck i didnt even spend that much on my full hydro on my 1/1 |
I followed the link to the pics and vid, but it was all red x's and I couldn't d/l the vid... I'd like to see this!! |
rerock, I'll have to upload some pics and stuff later tonight. I deleted a ton of stuff off the server, some of it by accident. Snakeman, that video is of a hydro alright...a Miss LLumar Hydroplane. rockcrawler 101, Yeah, I know what you mean. My 36" Iroks were $879 mounted, balanced, and shipped to my door. A little pile of aluminum or a big ol' set of tires...basically the same price. BUT...this is a true scale hydraulic steering system. It's a one of a kind. ;) |
That'd be sweet! I gotta see this. |
yes I to am very interested to see this set up, I would love to run that on my crawler. |
I have seen your Scorpion before but it is truely awsome. Top notch craftsmanship! |
holy Shi* that is the most amazing thing i have ever i seen its gotta be a beast:twisted: on the trailsi know its expensive but around what did that set u back if you dont mind me askin and how are your runtimes with the hydro bubba |
Thanks guys. Chris, I literally get hours of runtime on this truck. With a 3300 pack and a reduction ratio of 150:1 the motor that drives the truck draws very little current. It's slow, but I wanted it to move slow. The hydraulics pull very little current as well, but they're powered by a seperate lithium-polymer pack. |
Geez Jason ... i think i was just looking at build pics or something in another thread and thought those tubes were for aesthetics purposes, im in awe they are functional. |
Wow man, that's absolutely incredible! I think that thing goes into the top 20 of the coolest things I've ever laid my eyes on. Now if only I could remember the other 19... |
cool thanks for the post jason I think this will be my next project for sure...thanks again |
That'll learned me to post before looking at the link. Sorry! I did have the video a while back and ***-u-me-d that was it. |
