Default Crawling the New Course

While the area I use for crawling is at a park just 3-4 blocks from me, I wanted one in my own yard. Here are a few pics of what I came up with ... along with my 1:6 crawling the new "course." Unlike some of you I wasn't able to get my rock for free but the course also doubles as the new centerpiece of one of the landscaped areas around my house!

A few teasers ...

OK, I'm looking at my rocks and I'm looking at your rocks and I'm trying to figure out where mine are small compared to yours. :?

I'll grant everyone this ... I haven't seen much of cobblestone in the competition photos. Don't knock it until you try it. Depending on the lines you take, the cobblestone with the occasional boulder can be very challenging - especially on a 20-30° incline - and absolute treachery on driveline and steering parts.

There is a good reason you don't see your setup with cobble stones in comps, our comp rigs would walk right through it and it would be very boring.

Your driving a stock Nylint on the other hand there is a big difference in the terrain they can crawl stock.

Who cares how big your rocks are? Are you having fun? I know I would have hours of fun if I had that much rock in my back yard.

its not the size of your rocks!! its how many rocks you have!! :-P

if you took those smaller rocks & made little piles & valleys they are very challenging because they leave tire eating holes in them.. its all about the layout of them..
i keep changing my rocks around as i mod my little 1:18.
a stocker would never make it through now.
i need a course redesign after cutting every other row off my rear tires.
i'll send you some rocks/i get em 4 free..rock poachin..

You're right about that! My Nylints squeal like pigs when their tires drop down in a hole and get underneath a rock. Trust me, these cobble stones are more treacherous than they look.

One might also say its not the size of your rocks that matters its how you use them that counts.

I wish I had a back yard to build a trials and crawling area but I live in a condo so its indoor crawling for me. Fortuneatly I also have excellent crawling areas within a few minutes walk of home.
