Default rc4wd rims and Axial hexes

I'm having a heckuva time getting these rims to fully seat onto the axial aluminum hexes.. should I be getting plastic hexes instead for them?

Which RC4WD wheels are you using? They sell a lot of wheels. If you mean these wheels then you need to lightly ream out the center hole in the wheels to get the Axial hexes to fit. Also you will note that the wheels won't fully seat because of the raised inner ring on the aluminum hexes.

The nub on the top of the Axial hex is more than likely the issue. Just shave it down or drill out the center of your wheels to accept it.... but I'd shave the nub off.

i have the exact same wheels. the axial hex is the culprit here, like others have said shave down the axial hex. and the rim will be tight.

seat the rim fully on the nut and you will notice that the part of the hex that pokes through is longer than it has to be. lock nut is tightening against hex and not the rim itself. took me a min. of head scratching to catch it.

Thanks.. I actually went ahead and opened up the hole a bit more and now they fit on.. still tight, but they fit..

Figured better to mod the wheel, so that way I don't have to mod more hexes in the future if I have to replace em.

Now, if I could only get them to hold the bead on my chisels good.. least till the roxlox come out.
