mine did the same thing//a solder joint on the steering motor broke. it would work sometimes when i went forward or backward, or shook it.. so i pulled the cover off the top & found the broken joint// so i ripped it all out,cut off everything on the front//took a standard serv, wired 2 leads directly to the servo motor, used 3 resistors in series, & made a mount up to top of axle//then took airplane pushrods & crimp on electrical connectore for drag link & tie rod, crimped them & soldered//holds up great,i bash it hard alot with no problems.. or you could just solder the wire back on!! but i hate stock things,so i went that route.. now if i could figure out how to make the throttle better!! stock radio sux, but i dont have an esc..just airplane stuff. |

Mine is doing the same thing (kinda) but no wires have come loose from the motor? Steers fine one way but only about 1/2 as good the other way. I took the front cover off and nothing had come loose? |

it would be interesting to switch the wires & see if you could steer the other way good.. that would tell you if its the motor.. might try removing the resistor & seeing if that fixes it. if its the motor, put a servo on that puppy |

thanks for the replys everyone. well after this problem it has gotten bad to worse fast. the problem came more often and now its done, no steering i went out camping for the weekend near Clear Lake and there were some killer spots but no...eh, i still took it for a ride in a straight line,lol...anyway im gonna pull the front apart again check it, if i see nothing im gonna contact Nylint for a whole new front axle, hopefully, and i say whole front axle cause the front is slipping bad and i get no traction up front, plus this steering issue. hope all works out, i love this thing Sean |

well i fixed the problem mine did the same as jeepguys 1:18. no soldering gun here so i just cut some back twisted directly to the motor by passing the resistor? thats what i think it is:? , im no electrician. so far so good, not sure if i should have kept it on but i had no room to put it on, if i need to ill solder it on and make room i will, this was just a quik fix. well just see how this holds out after the comp this coming weekend.hopefully the screws won't strip it out thanks for the help again!!
