I found out that if you split the axle if you put oil on the gears it runs smoother and alot quieter. It might fix ur problem too!

I think when I reversed my rear axle, I may need to go over all my connections again. Maybe redo it. I'll try oiling both axles as well. What kind of oil do I use?

mine lost complete power, give the ol` axle a sniff, a good long sniff 3 or 4 mins maybe. If you get all light headed and dizzy, your motors toast! Like mine was...

Only problems I have had outta my rear axle is the tires not spinning. Sounds stupid but I cut the crap outta the tread and they grip too much now, that also sounds stupid.

Well, I took it all apart. And I thought I had it fixed, but It stoppped working again. I thought it was my saudering job, but I think the connection to the motor isn't very good. Should I try to sauder it on better. Or will it mess something up? It will work then stop, Then I'll force the wheel to move and then it works on it's own for a minute then stops again, then I repeat. Thats what I've been doing to just drive it. It's the motor going out on it right?

mine has been doing the same thing, so i tore it apart & everything looked good, no bindage//so i did my axle shave. then put it back together & now it only goes forward. no reverse. even with motor out of axle.

i'm guessin somethin is toast.
it was doing the stall thing for a while, i would hit reverse, then forward & it would go again.more when battery was low.
maybe i'll try swappin motors??

its not the motor/

tried my steering motor & it does same thing//out of gearbox.
so i gues i will tear into the electronics of this thing.
can i build a homade speed controller so i can put my airplane radio in this thing??
thinking maybe an adjustable rehostat or just an on/off type/with reverso of course!!
or i'll remove gearbox & motor out of rear & run fwd.
Or can i wire it in with the front//or would that fry everything else??

ok, i think the axle stall caused something to fry on the circuit board.

i rewied in with the front axle onto the board & it worked, but rear axle would still stall like it did before. go in opposite direction then it would move again.
so i ran a battery through it. tore the gearbox in the back axle apart and lubed it with some grease//too much!! so i tore it apart before reinstalling into axle & cleaned off some grease.. it moves much better now. so i reinstalled axle & i am awaiting battery charge now..
i will post in about 4 hours if it fixed the problem..

Thumbs up

just call the # on the box if its within like 90 days or something theyll replace it for you. ive done it 2 times now cuz the gears keep strippin or the front "u joints" cause it to bind. if its something you can fix, you can fix it and then have two.

I went or Radio Shack to look at the motors for a replacement. They have a 3.5V motor thats the same as what in the axles on these things for around 5 dollars. The gut up at Radio Shack said first to spray WD40 in the motor while it's running to clean it all out. Then use a light weight oil like sewing machine oil. Would Automatic Tranny fuild work also? Any way he said by the looks of those vent on bottom a lot of dirt would get in their and clog the motor up really easy. I'll try this first.

the steering motor is the same!! you could slap a servo on there & use your steering motor in axle.

after puting gerbox together, back in axle,& axle back on truck//went to put in battery & noticed i forgot to put bolts back in//so apart it must come again!!

ok, i am not sure if steering motor is the sam power output. i put it in my rear & it seems to bind up quicker than the stock motor!

the steer motor is a weeny motor & cannot be used in the axle!!!
my rear gearbox is toast!!hard to spin, gresed & still hard to turn!!
gonna pull it apart & go gear by gear & clean.
i put front gear box in back with steering motor & it will move, but barely..
so i have a 2wd again, which does not wheel good at all!
