| Does anyone on here have AutoCad and know how to use it?
I want to get my chassis made up on AutoCad so I can have it cut on a machine. I don't know how to use it and was hoping there was someone on here that could help me out. I'd rather not spend the extra money to have the company charger me to draw it up in autocad.

Search for emachineshop.com get their free program and draw it up. You can save as a DWG which is an autocad file. You can send this to just about any machinist Or I will draw it for $40 an hour |

Harley: Thanks so much, that program does exactly what I need it to do. It's easy to use too.

I already designed my chassis! That's an easy to use program, I love it. Will I be able to use this program file type (EMS file) to give to the company to make my design?

| No, you will need to do a save as or an export of some sort. I used to use the program to design my gears. It has a great little function built in. I would just punch it all in and then save as a DXF or DWG. About any machinist should be able to take a DXF or DWG.

I drew some stuff up with emachineshop program but when i transfer to DXF the files does not show any measurements. Will I need to tell machine shop all the measurements?

| Hopefully you drew it in the correct units and to scale. The measurements are determinded by the points on the coordinate system in CAD.

| As long as you had drawn it all in the actual dimensions, the program has that scale information embeded and the software of the CNC or mill should read that info from the file.
