| Bad Torque Twist. Fixes...???
My Axial AX10 has very bad torque twist. When going in a straight line it actually constantly leans to one side. When climbing, the right front tire comes up off the ground. If I go forward full throttle, then reverse full throttle, the left rear tire comes up off the ground about 5-6". I have the 30 degree bend lower links front and rear, still three linked, so triangulated uppers, Integy Droop shocks with 15wt. oil and extra soft springs (truck sits naturally about half way down in its travel), Novak Rooster ESC / 55T motor combo, heavy duty ring and pinions, can't think of anything else that may matter for the torque twist for my specs...No dig or further gear reduction. What can I do to reduce/eliminate my terrible torque twist? Would converting the uppers to 4link instead of 3 link help? Moving the mounting locations of the shocks and lower links at the axle? Longer uppers in a different hole location, possibly drill a new hole further towards the chassis middle for extra long 4 link uppers? Flip Flop the tranny help at all? Any and all advice welcome. Thanks guys.

Do a search and you will find all kinds of info on torque twist. And now for some help...If you are running a droop suspension setup 15wt shock oil is way way way to thin. General rule of thumb is with a droop setup start out with a thicker oil and go from there...something like 80 or 90 wt that is if you are running full droop or a 50/50 type setup. Sprung setups are the opposite you want a thinner oil but not a while lot thinner. I'm running 30wt in my shocks with a sprung setup. I have never heard of anyone running anything less than that in a crawler. Yes a 4 link setup will help. You only really need a 4 link in the rear though. The front does not really make a difference at least to me it didn't. Also moving your rear shocks as far out on the back axle as possible. I have my shocks on the inside of the farthest most tab out with a spacer between the shock and the inner tab and then my lower link on the inside of the inside tab if that makes sense. Front shocks does not really make a difference where they are. If you are running a larger tire though and you have them spaced out your tires with hit your springs. Post up some pics if you can so we can better help you out. |

4 link, stiffer drivers rear spring + heavy oil, move rear shocks out and upright, mirror trans, asymmetric rear upper links, add rear anti-squat, weight front tires.
