Default Any quirks w/ Bent link bars?

I am about to build some custom bent lower link bars for the front and rear of my X-Crawler project and am wondering if there are realy any downfalls to this style link? I cant see where it would be bad if they were positioned correctly and didnt interfere w/ the upper links travel. I am also working on a custom shock setup, hopefully pics will be posted up soon. am mainly doing this to allow more clearance and for a good excuse to move the stock X-Crawler's lower shock mount locations. May as well just go nuts w/ it while i am at it, gives me something to build. There appears to be plenty of room to work with on the rig, so clearance wont be a problem i think.

Just mainly wondering if there is any downfall to bent lower links?

Only thing I don't care about them is that sometimes you can get that floppy link syndrome. It'll rotate due to the ball ends having "x" amount of play in them.

Yup same here, only other problem I've run into with them is having to wait while they were on intergalactic back order.

I run them front and rear. No downfalls here. Better clearance durring breakovers. And the tire hits before the link. The only bad thing is they leave the driveshaft unprotected in shafty rigs. But knowing how to drive fixes that.

Thanks for the input, i hadnt even thought of the play in the endlinks being a wobble issue, but i doubt it will cause any serious problems. I bet using something like a rubber band around the links would help keep this from being a problem too. This is my first Crawler (or serious RC for that matter besides an early T-maxx that never worked rite), and I am very excited to tear into it, set it up, and get some experiance with driving it, i am sure i will need the practice. Luckily i have access to a decent amount of land to play on.
