Default Acetal question

Well I bought some acetal which im 90% sure is the same as Delrin. But anyway what I got is called Acetal round natural rod 5/16 dia. I was supprised when I got this because this rod is as stiff as wet noodles. What form of plastic should I buy for links? Thanks

Delrin is band name, that's acetal. When it's in a longer lengths it will be like a "wet noodle", but once it's cut to link lengths it's very stiff. I personally use 3/8".

[ed] - R2j nailed it.

I use 1/4'' Acetal/Delrin rod for my 2.2 rigs when it involves links.

I guess I will have to try thicker stuff, With about 8 inches of the 5/16th i can bend it so the ends almost meet and it is pretty flexy

If you are going to have links that the rod is longer than 3 or 4 inches I would go up to half inch and taper the piss out of the ends.

Well thanks for the help guys, ill just use this stuff for my 2.2 link. But also turns out the rod I was testing must of been part of a bad batch because I tried the other rods out and they are a lot stiffer.

Whaaa? I have never had any piece of acetal...be it Delrin or any other...act that flexible. Where did you buy it from? You're sure it's acetal?

I would have a tough time even getting the 1/4" acetal rod I have here to bend that much without a good bit of force.
