Default My Scorpion MK1... kind of...

I built this tuber about two years ago and finally upgraded the suspension to forced articulation/active suspension. I have spent many hours searching this forum and this is what I have come up with... so thanks guys!

Here are the specs:
WB - 12 3/8"
Axles - TLT
Tranny - Stealth 2.65 w/custom dig
Motor - usually an HH 30t Torquemaster, but waiting on a new armature, so for now a Reedy 19t
ESC - Sidewinder + CC BEC
Tires - Losi comp claws
Servo - Towerpro 946

Here are a few pics... hope they show up and the right size.

This is my first attempt at a tube chassis and brazing.

Bottom view, you can see the swing arms attached by inline ball joints.

Here you can see the forced articulation at work. I compressed the rear left and the front right came off the ground. Also, you can see the cantilevers at work in the rear.

Here is a close up of the cantilevers articulated. Had to install one shock on the left side to eliminate torque twist. Works great.

Here is a top view that shows the parallel linkages front to rear. Also my home brew dig lever. With this suspension setup there is hardly any body roll, which is awesome on an off camber.

After a lot of fine tuning on the rear to eliminate torque twist this setup works well on my backyard rock course.

Do you get much side play with the in-line ball joints on the lowers ?- Neat idea !

No side play but there is a rubber disk for a cushion in the base that gives about .020" end play.

Here is a short video of the suspension being flexed manually.

I will post a video on the rocks as soon as it uploads.
