My belts slip on mine. They slip so bad that it wouldnt climb over a rock the size of the tires. I have not done the O-ring trick yet because of the reports of the Low gear planateries getting stripped. I have sanded the belts and the pully's already and that helps for a little while. The belts seem to get gunked up with a greasy black substance and they start slipping again. I have found that Brake parts cleaner will make them better. They will not slip for a full battery charge and then it will start slipping again. I am thinking about putting a Spray nossel access hole so I dont have to take the axles apart everytime it starts slipping again. :?

i just got mine about a week ago and first drove it yesterday and the belts were sliping, but i plan on changing the o rings and if that brakes something i have everything except the steering form my old one.

I've got the newer chassis, and mine works fine except for the belts. Popped in a few O-rings, and it works fine. I play in the rocks mainly btw.

My new chassis started slipping after the first two battery outing. Got bad enough that it wouldnt run in high range let alone low. Put the rear belt on the front and an O-ring on the rear and it works great.
Now it just seems to stop completely when it gets bound up. so far I am happy though.

Easiest thing to do is this

- Gut the hi/lo switching motor and wires from f/r axle
- Hard wire the white/black switch wires together
- Sand pulley and belt
- Pull the whole axle assembly apart and jb weld the 4 small balls and shaft into the low-range portion of the hi/low planetary
- Fab up something to replace your axle pin design (each version can be fixed diff)

Just remember, use lots of jb weld, clean everything good, scuff anything shiny, mix the jbweld equally, and let it fully cure (15hours for real jbweld and 4 hours for jbkwik)

got my gen2 chassi today in the mail and out everything over on to it except my winch goin to change how its mounted but tested it out by puting my daughter in a piece of ply wood and pulled her acroses the hard wood floor front wards and back wards no slippage and the steering on mine is quick and more powerful im very plezed with mine.

Also soon ill have pics up of tube front and rear bummpers with my winch mounted to the front thought the grill hope it looks some what scale:-P
