| Maxx sized wheels with 17mm hex????
Any of you guys know of any Maxx sized wheels that have a 17MM hex in them. Dont really have to be beadlocks, actually for what I'm wanting just some plain "glue on" plastic wheels would be fine. Thanks!!! |

Truggy wheels. The losi 8 wheels are 3.8" but most truggies use 3.2" wheels with a 17mm hex, I've used HPI 3151 hellfire wheels and I liked them but they're a really deep offset. Ofna 86101 has a wider offset and should work well. 1/8th scale buggy wheels are 3.2" diameter and use a 17mm hex, but they have a strange bead and are way too narrow for any stock width monster truck tires. I picked some up a few months ago from an ebay vendors bargain bin. They were like $3 a pair. RCBoys was the name I think...Maxx sized all the way around with a 17mm hex.

Been running 1:8 scale buggy wheels on my super for a long time now. These are Kyosho buggy wheels narrowed to 3/4" wide. |

I run them too, but my rig feels waaaaay out of place running against these guys with 8"-9" tall tires...

Those Badlands are full width. I did narrow my Mashers though. I used to run the bigger tires in super class. It is different running shorter tires. You can't run a long wheelbase like these 18" limo's you see nowadays. A 16" WB rig on 6" tires will do VERY well against the bigger tires guys run in super class. Now that I've gotten used to these little tires,I actually do better in super class with them. Tire placement is key. Also, having enough zip to jump holes and launch up and/or over things is very helpful. This little super is by far the funnest super I have ever built. I'll never run a big tire again.

Still, I like the BL's...I've also got a set of Zombies that I've thought about narrowing... edit: yeah, I'm running about 18". Need to shorten it up a tad I think. Last edited by Duuuuuuuude; 08-05-2009 at 10:16 PM.

You might take a look at the old OFNA Monster Pirate rims and tires. 17mm hexes with a wider stance than maxx tires and slightly taller as well. They're heavy suckers, but not as bad as Kongs though! |
