Default anybody use a diff in the front axle just for fun?

i got bored with my basher/ ex-comp rig (axial axles) so i decided to put in the diff gears from the orignal rtr kit just for fun. first thing i noticed is the tighter turning radius, thats a plus! so i packed the diff full of grase for a litlle more of a liminted slip type. so i took it out this morning and its accualy still quite capable and helped in a few sopts but hurt me on a step slightly off camber climb the tourqe twist is def. more noticeable on climbs and the TT unloaded the right front and made the rears do all the work and they just spun off the side of the climb but oh well a challange is more fun!

so does anybody else use a front diff on a spare rig just for fun?

I put a diff in the rear axle of my AX-10 just to see the difference for myself. I also jury rigged some limited slip. Some good, some bad. It was not a disaster though, and I had quite a few good runs with it before I put the locker back in.

It left me thinking that some sort of selectable, variabla limited slip could be a winner.

Cheers.

i remember when i first built my tlt. i built it stock and ran it 1:18 scale unlocked. hated it so i locked the rear first and ran it , hated it. locked the front after that and loved it lol .
soon built first crawler out of it .
i think that my first crawler used the crappy belt driven transmission out of the tlt but (locked with pede slipper pads in the diff)
man those were the days

I will at some point. I bought a cheap unused Venom just for the axles. Did you know that Axial knuckles fit Venom axles? They do but will need a custom steering link and some mods to the hexes to bring them inward a bit since the Venom is so much wider than the Axial.
