| mounting 2.2's
Quick and easy way to mount 2.2's on your nylint. Parts needed.... 4- 2.2 tires - proline moabs $17.00 - 20.00 per pair 4- Rustler wheels - traxxas rustler white wheel $6.00 per pair 4- Outer nylint wheels 16- 3mm x 20mm screws - associated button head hex screws $ 6.69 per pack of 20 16- 3mm locknuts - traxxas locknuts $1.90 per pack of 12 32- 3mm washers - dubro flat washers .70 per pack of 8 Tools...... Drill 1/8'' drill bit Screwdriver 3mm wrench On the back of the rusler wheels there are marks on them from the mold. You will drill out every other one as seen in the pic. One the nylint wheel you are going to drill out the 4 flat spots between the old mounting holes. When putting the wheels together make sure they are centered. The fake beadlock on the nylint wheel will help center the two wheels together. Now the fun part, screwing them all together. Hope this helps with anyone putting on 2.2's Last edited by BLK6.0HD; 11-26-2005 at 10:58 PM. |

You forgot to mention what to do with the washers... some people may not know.

hey, i mounted some tlt's to my nylint. i wanted to show you the pics but i cant figure out how to load them. i had the tlt's but couldn't get them to line up and there was too much space in between. instead i took adapters for a mini-quake to mount losi rims, and drilled them out big enough to fit the screw part of the rear axle through. the plastic axle piece came off and the quake adapter fit right on with a little grinding. then i took a pair of losi/2.2 adapters and fit them on next. the two adapters replaced the space of the plastic mount perfectly. for the front i had to cut a hex out of an old spur gear (although you could use a 2.2 hex) and cut a hex in the center to fit the nylint hex. the i super glued the hexes to keep it in place. now the tlt's fit great and i can also interchange with any 2.2 wheel. hopefully i will figure out how to load pics so i can show them off. lol. later, cam.

| 2.2 Pro-Line Dirt Hawgs
WOW !! Thanks for the great tip!! It took me a little over an hour to complete the whole conversion . I did mine a little different. I did however use (4) Rustler fronts and used Proline Dirt Hawgs w/foam inserts. Then, I could not find the correct screws so they stick out of the rim a little ways. The propper size for us non-metric folks would be a 7/8 in. 3mm for the screws. A 1in. would work out as well. I also used a 1/4 in. drill bit in the center of the Traxxas rim to make it much easier for any size screwdriver to access the screws that hold the wheels on. For drilling both the Traxxas and Nylint peices, I used a 9/64 drill bit. This thing looks badass !! Thanks again, Norwegian Legion |
