| trials rig of sorts....
ok, so i was sitting about wanting to ride my trials bike but i couldnt because it was hammering down with rain, so i took a good old look at my crawler and decided to make a new chassis, i went into my workshop and finding any sort of metal would be like finding a cheeseburger in somalia so i decided to use an existing object and make it into a chassis.... i looked around for a bit and then layed my eyes on an old hub i had for my trials bike. a big old grin came up on my face and a few hours later i was finished tinkering, well heres the end result..... And for those who dont know........ this is a trials bike...... Ok its not your average chassis but i wanted something different and i think i have achieved my goal. Im planning to bung a 60/40 link setup on it, not sure where the electrics will go but still, its different! What do you guys think?? EDIT>> oops, just seen that iv posted it in general crawlers, if a mod fancies moving it into clodbuster it would be appreciated..... Last edited by sparko; 12-06-2005 at 09:05 AM. |

Ha! That is pretty crazy, but it looks like it works fairly well. Where are you planning on mounting everything? Way to use what you've got - Thumbs up for ingenuity.

| Whats the wheelbase on it? It looks kinda short. But maybe good for a 2.2 size crawler with some smaller whels/tires. |

yea its only like 13 inches, thats why im going to convert it to a 60/40 style setup to get a bit more wheelbase + stability

You can mount all the electronics on the axles. ESC on the left rear, smaller battery on the front right. Pretty cool idea!

ahh lol, well youd be suprised how light the hub is; weight is key in trials and with the gubins removed it is lighter than you would expect. its about the same as my old pair of braced chassis rails...

hehehe gubins. Your trials bike looks short too, whats the WB on it? Whats your best move at this point? I cant seem to get rolling bunnyhops on my trials. Its too low and long. |

I cannot beleive you savaged a planet x hub for a chassis for your clod. Nice trials bike, you do any other kinds of riding? I do agressive xc and epic rides. My fisher 29er does the job pretty good. WB definetly needs some help on that rig, ill bet it wont get hung up too much. cheers harris |
