Default Associated MGT shocks?

Has anyone ever ran associated shocks? I tried looking to see if anyone had some experience with them on the board and didn't a single post. Seems most everyone uses traxxas.

Anyways, I was browsing ebay and came across a set of 4 new MGT shocks for $14 shipped.

Looks like they are similiar to traxx maxx shocks just a bit longer. Traxxas didn't have a compressed length dimension.

MGT specs:
- Length (Compressed): 3.196"
- Length (Un-Compressed): 4.410"
- Diameter: 0.532"

Traxxas specs:
- Length: (Un-Compressed) 4.125"
- Diameter: 0.75"

Does anyone have experience with these shocks? I bought a set because they were cheap. Got them in today and they seem REALLY smooth. A little stiff and the rebound is VERY slow. I'm sure oil will change that. I need to do a little research though, there is a screw on the bottom of the resevoir which looks to be an adjustment? Also there is a cap, not sure if thats for bleeding or another adjustment.

Yes they are excellent shocks, I used them on one of the first crawlers I built, and now I have a threaded aluminum version of them on my bulu. I needed the extra length and they were perfect.

I was curious what the reservoir did. Nothing sounds good

They seem nice and smooth though. Seems as if they are about 4.1" eye to eye though. Not sure where tower got 4.4"? Still longer than the maxx though but not much.

Badger likes them. He bought the ones I had. Now they are on the TLT I bought from him. The work very well.

I used to really like the big bore traxxas jobbies with Ti nitride shafts. Very smooth as well.

Like FrankyRizzo said I really liked them on my comp TLT. They were the perfect length for what I was going for on the ride height and stroke.

I used the stock MGT springs on the rear and some softer Integy blue springs on the front.
