| So if dig is allowed.....
Nobody I talk to can answer this other than.........because thats the rules...........if dig is so popular, why can't we run 4ws? Is it some unfair advantage? Not a big deal just sorta seems pointless to not allow it.

Here in Holland we are working with dig and 4ws in one class and sometimes 4ws is better and sometimes dig is better.Cant say that 4ws is a big advance to dig.We where thinking the same way as you did and decided to chanche the rules in a 2.2 normal class no dig no 4ws and no moa.And a 2.2 comp class dig,4ws and moa allowed.

Run Super class if you want both! Do a search, there are many threads on this question with answers from the rules committee! The rules are just fine how they are for the classes! |

I am pretty sure the reason for no rear steer in 2.2 was to make it more of a drivers class.Once you add rear steer combined with dig it is a whole different playing field. The things that can be done with a Stick radio twin esc's and rear steer is mind blowing. Super is the class for a rig setup like this. |

The rules originally said nothing about dig....but excluded 4WS to make it more competitive. IIRC, miniwheeler first created a driveshaft disconnect and it wasnt against the rules, so it was allowed. Now, it's just a way of life!

now that dig is here.........why dont they just allow 4ws, is it that hard to ammend the rules?. It seems old and archaic to keep no 4ws just because. I see now why dig was permitted as it didnt involve 4ws...........I don't know I just figure it would open things up,,,,,,,

this may sound crazy but i'm planning on running a dig and no rear steer on my super, i think a good enough driver can do the same on a course without rear steer, and i dont like those damn stick crawlers sim to cheaty with out cheating

| I do not see that.I do not care how good of a driver you are you are not going to get around a course with just dig on a Super as someone that knows what they are doing with independent control of the front and rear motors and steering on both axles. |

| If you add rearsteer to the 2.2 class, then what distinguishes it from the superclass? The rule was made back in the day to help separate the 2 classes, and make it more of a stock/budget/drivers class. Now with all the advancement the sport has made in the last few years, it doesn't seem like that when you look at it now, since most 2.2's cost as much as a super, and are a LOT more capable than they used to be.

Yep....Agreed. I built my first crawler well before that build thread was started. That truck wasnt NEARLY as capable as any of the rigs in my collection these days....

so much for it being a budget class......I don't see where it would hurt to allow dig or 4ws, but definitely not both. Personally, I am not a fan of 4ws on anything other than a super, but that is just me. |
