| Backyard crawler!
Hey everybody, this is my current Nylint project. I'm not sure how it's going to end up, but I would like to keep small and light. This one is for backyard crawling, so small is really the theme here. I have a few ideas for parts: Custom chassis (aluminum or cutting board maybe?) Links - AE turnbuckles 2 sets of these and 2 sets of these esc - Novak XRS or Losi MLST twin motor Micro servos - Hitec HS225bb GP 1100 Saddle packs Mini LST tires Shocks - lightweight 4" maybe these any ideas? I haven't really settled on using this body or not, I'm still looking around. I've done a few mods so far but I'm getting ready for the credit card extravaganza this will turn out to be. So far I installed 4ws and I extended the wheelbase to 9" where it's gonna pretty much stay at. I messed with shock mounting points to get an idea of what I'm going to need in a custom chassis. I would like to here some others ideas for the chassis and parts ect. There's some smart mf's on here and I could use the help! Last edited by Lt. Dan; 12-21-2005 at 01:59 PM. |

Yeh, 4ws is awesome. I might go out and buy another just for the axle to use on my scorp.

Those are the best cut tires I have seen. Great job. More pics. I may cut my tires on my 1/6th like that. Do they perform well.

Looking good. That 4WS should definately help if you decide to get it involved in any kind of comp, That's if it's legal of course. |

Here's an update on the little guy. I got the MLST tires and threw them on. They're just attached with ca for now, I'll drill and screw them later. The ca glue held for my test run, and the tires performed great! They are about the same height as the stockers and are 3/4" wider. Here's the pics: |

Damn those tires look good, I really wanted to use them the day the mini lst came out... But those pics talked me out of it, too bad they are not tall enough for my liking. :( Clean work though!

I like the look of the truck body on there, definatly looks good like that. Are you going to keep the stock suspension when you build your new chassis? Just curious but with only lower mounting points for your links you could definatly make a lightweight chassis with high ground clearance . Also, what is that little truck/car in the backround? Looks pretty cool low and wide. Leach |
