Generally Brake Line, relatively cheap, VERY easy to find, lots of sizes.

Soldering with a torch (oxy/acet) is plenty strong. Soldering like dropping solder on your your iron..... Not as strong.

There is some AWESOME tube chassis fab here by Jay, aka roktoy on this board.

When done right.... I'd say its strong enough!!!

But its like any welding, its as only as good as the welder!

Has anyone welded aluminum tube with anything other than TIG? or MIG?

I was wondering about doing some brazing on aluminum, but I don't know much about it. I was thinking about soldering, but wasn't sure about that either. I know I can get the aluminum hot enough, but not sure if I can control the heat and not get it to hot.

I tried aluminum welding rods by muggy weld. I had no luck but they were willing to talk on the phone to me. Still didnt help.

Ok thanks guys. I never would have thought about brake line, thats a good idea. I am in the process of getting a tmaxx from another member on here and im thinking of caging it. Lord knows as much as i maybe try to keep it in the mud, it will go arolling down hills and such.
