| Rear axle for steering?
Ok I have an idea. What if you take the front axle with the gear box's and place in a rear axle housing and make brakets for the knuckles? You would have to remove the HI/Low gears and mount the servo ( or even an aftermarket servo) but it just maybe possible. With little axle shaving this would be a killer front axle.

I had briefly pondered the idea. The first and biggest hurdle would be the servo. If you're running stock electronics there's no way you can make an AM servo work (I've been down that road). I guess you could try and mount that big bulky stock steering box to a rear axle but it would seem like a lot of work trying to make a pitman/draglink set-up work. Secondly, are you talking about using stock front knuckles or fabbing completely new ones?? And would you use stock front outer shafts as well?? |
