Default Setting up Felstenfest lockers.

When I set up my felstenfest locker I'm having trouble getting the axle shafts to run perfectly true. I can get them super close but not perfect. Am I being too picky or do I need to keep playing with it. Help!!!!:?

Well, Christian recommends drilling an access hole in the housing and then closing it with a set screw...personally, I just keep adjusting them. If you loosely bolt them down, then put the spool/axle shafts into half of the housing, then you can rotate the shafts and tighten down the set screws as necessary.

Tried it both ways with the same results. Like I said, they are close but there is still some runout that i can't seem to get rid of.

I use them in both of my comp rigs and heres what I do. I screw the set screws in until I see them flush with inside of hole. Then install axle shafts and tighten them the exact amount in small 1/8 turn increments. This should get you set straight. I put two set screws in my axle housings for later axle removal without teardown.

That is strange. I cant understand how, if you bolt the axle cases together, you are still getting a wobbling axle shaft. The bearings should be holding it in place. Are your cases, by chance, worn out at the bearing races?

It's wobbling because he doesn't have the set screws evenly set

Thanks Captain Obvious.

I meant, I don't understand how, if he bolts the case halves together, he can possibly tighten the set screws down so that they cause the shafts to wobble. I have been running these spools for quite some time now and have no troubles getting them aligned properly.
