Default My basement course

I've been playing in my basement the past couple of months building myself a little indoor crawler course. It's built in a 14'x30' area and the suspension bridge is 24' long. The one and only steel bridge is built out of old chain saw chains that my buddy tig welded together. I've got a few small things I want to do to it still but for the most part it's all done. I think I'm just going to add another bridge or two and maybe some logs here and there. I didn't build it to be comp worthy, I just wanted a place for my friends and I to mess around while the snow in on the ground.

Still gathering materials to start mine. What method did you use for the rock? I'm leaning toward stick built > chicken wire > burlap\cloth > quick concrete mix.....

That is a really cool spot. Looks like it's pointless to clean your tires before you run there, though.

Thats exactly what I did, worked out great for me. I had much better luck using the quickcrete masons mix (just fine sand and portland cement) vs regular quickcrete with the larger aggregate.

I'm thinking about sealing the cement so I don't get too much dust from driving on the course but I also don't want to make it too slick. The pics are deceiving though, a lot of the dust on the creeper's tires is from drivng around on the basement floor during the construction process. Lets just say it was a messy build!

I was going to use old dirt bike chain but I didn't have any old chains at my house so I stopped but a friends place and he gave me the chain saw chain. I figure it's a lot thinner than dirt bike chain so it'll be harder to drive on. It's like driving on a cable bridge that has a nice arch to it! If you look closely at the pics the tires actually drive on the guide side of the chain instead of the cutters/rakes. That way I don't have to worry about cutting up my tires too much.
