Default brushed vs brushless

i was wondering, i have a Novak Rooster w/ 45t in a ax-10, and my crawler torqe rolls bad, i was wondering if i went brushless would the smother motor reduce the tourqe roll at all, if you need any of the specs on the crawler to better answer the question, just let me know
Thanks
Daniel

mirror the tranny helps alot and is free
4link it helps some more

hope that helps

A brushless motor will not reduce torque twist....but it will reduce motor drag (not a good thing in a crawler)...

Default mirror

Means turn the motor and tranny around in the car. Doing that eliminates most of the torque twist. If the car is picking up the left front tire put a stiffer spring or heavier shock oil in the right rear spring. That will help with torque twist as well.

lots on info on this board about cures for torque twist. and its all just a search away

mirroring the tranny is actually not all it's cracked up to be. things like adding wheel weight, switching up link geometry by fine tuning a 4 link system, different springs and even varying oil weights is a much better option imho

i prefer not to get anyone on rcc thinking im a pompous know-it-all but when i read advice "mirror the tranny" first thought that comes up in my mind is "newb." not because it's particularly bad advice but, in the end you will go back to an "unmirrored" tranny

and back to the original question
no brushless will not help fight torque twist. a rotating mass is a rotating mass.
stick w/ brushed. its cheaper, you have better drag, its smoother, and most times a lot lighter and smaller (motor and esc weight and size combined)

um, less weight with brushed? not meaning to flame but with an outrunner and a micro sidewinder it weighs about the same as a brushed motor...then add in the weight of the esc.......

with the original question in mind

lets try to compare apples to apples

the micro sidewinder is designed for 1/18 application, plus the popular fx-r is smaller and lighter then the cc swm
as for the outrunner, is there any sensored ones out there that can compare to the price, low speed precision control and "smoothness" a brushed motor ? until then i think i'll stick w/ brushed.

and also stated "in most cases," i did not say all
