Default Source for pillow blocks (for 5mm or 6mm shafts)

Anyone have any sources for pillow blocks? This is basically EXACTLY what I want but $12 each seems steep?

I'd prefer 5mm but 6mm will work if need be.

It's not as pretty, but you could make one out of a axle carrier.

In all actuality,12 bucks for a part like that REALLY ain't that bad. Unless you sources them out to a chinese sweat shop. I could make something like that pretty easy at the shop myself, for $12 though....I'd just buy the dumb thing.

I used the nylon/plastic sleeve bearing in a 2.2 crawler build... worked fine all season and inexpensive.

5mm #6687K31
6mm #6687K32

When I built the drive lines on the Man-kat 8x8 I used a tlt knuckle with the arm shaved off and mounted with the 2 pivot holes, works great for 3 years and only cost about 35 cents + bearings isn't as small as those but its solid.

Those things still have no slop in them Joe. They held up ridiculously well.

How did you know that!? Haha!

Kona joe, i actually seen those and got my attention but do you think they will last at 10,000rpm? I didnt think they would last long. Might just have to cough up $30. I was just thinking there might be something stock out there cheaper.

If you are limited as far as space goes, you could do what I did.

I made a carrier out of a piece of 3mm aluminum (bent at the correct angle), drilled an 5/16" hole in it and pressed in a 5x8 flanged bearing held with 609 Loctite. Not the prettiest but works great and cheap.

That's not a bad idea really. I think I'm just going to splurge and spend the whopping $30 on the pillow blocks. They'll make finishing up the drive train in the truck way easier.
