Default Worm axle grease

I'm still trying to set up the worminator MOA axles and have an issue with the grease staying on the gears. It's running a Tekin 17.5 brushless motor so it spins off the worm gear pretty easy. I took the axle apart and put grease all around the pinion and worm gear, tested it with a couple full throttle bursts and took it apart again. As you can see in the picture all the grease is now beside the worm gear accomplishing nothing. You can actually see the part of the worm gear that contacts the other gear, it's wearing already. Just curious if I should completely fill the axle housing with grease or is there a type of grease that won't just fly off the gears at full throttle, hopefully something I can get locally without ordering online? Thanks for your help.....

The Losi Comp Crawler forum has about 9 dozen grease threads. Check some of those out, they should help.

What's interesting is those two shiny rings on the pinion are wear, already.

I've heard good things about these greases.

Gear Jelly

and

Gorilla Snawt http://stores.ebay.com/Gorilla-Snawt-Lubricants

I use Lucas "red n tacky" on my Rockforce and Losi Comp Crawler worm gears and it sticks well but those worminators seem to have a ton of open space around... you could maybe pack the whole area with grease....

Forgot to mention that I'm looking for something I can get locally for testing this week. I'll order some Gear Jelly and BLC Worm food asap but they won't arrive in Canada for at least a week. I'll check out the red wheel bearing grease and post up some results for shiggles....

Rob,

I have some grease that you can have. I think it is a marine grease. I will try to give it to Jason to bring to Teds tomorrow night.

Thanks Kev, I have the radio all sorted out and should be able to run it tomorrow night if I can keep the gears greased. Just have to make a battery plate and ESC mount, doing that tomorrow.
