| Backyard rock courses
Okay guys i have a small (8ftx8ft???) course in my yard. Well i've got some places where i could get a couple ton of rock and it be hid, and not look like just a pile of rocks. Im going to post a wanted add for rocks on the local forsale/wanted website. Plenty of people have rock for free just need it gone. I thought about making my course roughly 20ftx35ft. Thats plenty big with elevation changes going up to about 8ft or so. I also thought about having gtg's and friendly comps on the course. I was wondering about legal purpose's if someone got hurt on the course while trying to "upright" or "free" there crawler. Should i make them sign a waiver, saying Crawl at own risk, Not responsible for ANY injury's. Also put signs up. What do you think, about the course and legal purposes?

well, if you are not offering it as business, etc. then you should be fine, i mean, if you are just inviting friends and family over, you shouldn't have to worry about it anyway, no ones gonna sue you

| You come and crawl. But I'll give you a big long pole to get your crawler, so you wont have to get on the rocks. |

Man ebay sure does have the quanity of tennis balls for cheap! I was thinking about some good course markers like about 6 inches high and that bends and makes like a "U" shape you come off the rocks in one gate, go in the little U shaped area and back on the rocks all in one course and have a whole new line.

It depends on your states laws. Punitive damages are the most costly in a lawsuit. Most states don't allow insurance companies to cover punitive, so you are on the hook. Homeowners would help with liability coverage and hospital bills, but the "pain and suffering" is on your dime (usually). So, with that said, get a waiver, spell it out, and have people be "members" or something. Be proactive and not reactive. Believe me, my company has $1.1 mil in open claims right now, and they are "hard working honest people" that we trusted, and employed for 20 -30 years. Just saying, people fall and crack their skulls open all the time, especially when the brewski's are flowing. Good luck... |
