Exclamation Just a chassis tip

Those looking to build a reallt cool custom chassis here's a tip or trick I use.
When building the main chassis side plates you want it to be strong, light and look cool as fook right? Right! so just use this or something like it:

What your looking at is an aluminum shock tower used on a quake I believe.
But look at other vehicals for chassis plate ideas. Go to towerhobbies and search for "shock tower aluminum" They give the deminsion and they are already predrilled and anodized. Just lock them together with a plate or threaded round stock and you have a nice chassis starting point. Hope this is useful.

i saw a clod type crawler somewhere that used this idea. they used a set of XTM Original Mammoth shock towers.

you can get the towers of EBAY very cheaply and in pairs

i'll keep looking for the thread i saw it in.

This guy used RC10GT shock towers:

Clod Project: Check out my 1 night chassis!!!

Towers for the GT come in many varieties inluding Carbon Fiber and Aluminum.

Yet another reason why building a shafty is a true art.

I actually looked into 4tec shock towers for a Venom mini giant chassis, but they were a hair too small.

Another option is using aluminum extrusion, like 4"x4" square tubing and cut it to shape.

When I bought my clod the guy tried using two aluminum Tmaxx towers. It sucked though.
