I use 32p gears and i have a 54t spur and 15t pinion and i use the velenion brushless motor and esc and it works great for my scale truck. Plus when i used a 87t spur and 24t pinion when i had 48p gears i had good speed but my truck would stutter real bad when crawling but ever since i went to 32p gears i get more speed and no stutter. Me and my wife have the same setup in our trucks and big hills and deep mud holes fear us |

If it's running good, why bother? Don't follow the crowd, use what works for your skill. Gearing and motor turns are a choice. Don't let this forum bottle feed your decision, check out someone elses rig that different if you can and see how you like it.
