| Axle u joints
This may of been done or asked before I could'nt find anything on it. Has anyone ever tried or thought about trying to put a u joint in the center of the drive shaft on a shafty crawler to get it up out of the way to get moa type ground clearance? You could have a bracket off the chassis to hold a bearing that the u joint could ride in. I am not sure if anyone will understand what I am trying to say or not, but without actually doing it and posting pics I am not sure how to get my idea across.

With the limited wheelbase a carrier berring like you are talking about would make 2 really short driveshafts and result in a lot of binding when the suspension moves. A good idea, but it doesn't work for the short WB rules of the 2.2 class.

youd have to run a pillow block (your bearing idea), so IMO it be tough to do and keepin it all centered and inline with the drive shaft and then you haave to watch clearnces with the upper links. just too much trouble for the litte clearnace youd gain IMO

I was'nt sure it would actually work. I just thought it was a good idea, and wondered if it had been tried or thought of before.
