DX3E if you want to stick to cheap. I run the DX3R. I love it.

All of these are great radios! I own both the DX3R and a 3PKS. For the money, I like my DX3R especially when considering that it only runs on 4 AAs! Super light and extremely easy to use!!! The only downside is that it doesn't feel as well made as my 3PKS.

The dx3r is stupid easy to use and a great radio. Light radio especially when you're racing all day. Lithium AA's last forever in this radio but its just as cheap to buy bulk regular AA's.

Currently have a 3pm-x and its a great radio also, only radio I would upgrade to would be a 4pk. Check out harleys thread for dig setup on the 3pm-x, way easier than trying to figure it out with the manual. Batteries seem to last forever but it does take 8.

Have had a nomadio react also...great radio too but staying on top of batteries was annoying.

One thing I did notice is that spektrum rx's are easier to come by used and usually cheaper. They also work with the nomadio if you're interested in that route.
