i wanna pick one up for me WKC but i'm lost as too what power supply to use....
do i pick up a separate battery supply for it or just run it through my reciever

and whats your (viewer/readers) experience with the "remote wire" that comes with the package.... i don't really have the funds to buy a 3rd channel reciever and radio

I have a couple of 3r winches. On one of my rigs I a seperate battery for power only because I was not concerned about the added weight, Tamiya F350. On my SCX scaler I get the power for the winch from the 2s pack running the whole rig.

On the SCX I am using a DX3r and on the F350 I run a DX6i.

In order to use the "remote" that comes with the winch, and not use a 3 or more channel radio, you need to have access to the button on the remote.

I would just pick up the 3r winch and hook it up on your bench. Once you see how it works then you will be able to determine where and how to mount the remote.

Make sure and replace the stock hook as it will break on the first pull...

500swmag, not to bash but i've used the search tool many times and i find it easier to just ask for what i'm looking for rather than search for 4 different answers and scroll through countless numbers of pages of just random garb about the subject

1rcmonster thanks for the tip(s) could you maybe send me a pic or 2 of your crawlers for a feel of what it looks like mounted??
