| Bulldog vs. 3racing winch
I have shurched and couldn't find a comparison. I am looking to get my first winch and I am just looking for the pros and cons of each and what every one recommends. Thanks Adam |

I don't know much about the bulldog, but I do have the 3racing winch. I got the 3Racing winch mostly for looks. The weight rating on the 3R winch is a whopping 2lbs. I believe the Bulldog actually has some pulling torque. Just looked at their site. Looks like the Bulldog is a brushed motor, but it has twice the pulling power of the 3R winch. Either way, I wouldn't be using it for anything more than looks for the most part. If I wanted one with useful torque, I'd pony up the cash for the MSD winch. I arched msd scale winch. My brother in law has the bulldog and he likes it but I guess some of the gears stripped out in it and it took rc4wd forever to send him the parts to fix it

I have searched for that and I was thinking about it but I like the look of the scale winches.

Sorry about the spelling I'm using my phone and I miss a key every now and again. If I did make my own winch would a steering servo out of a stock tmaxx work ok. That is all I have right now

What some have done is used the 3Racing as a dummy winch with a servo winch hidden under the body. Still cheaper than the MSD by a long shot

You can use a Pro-line dummy winch and run the line like that. A servo winch is stronger anyways. you should use a metal tower-pro servo. they are cheap but strong enough for a winch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKlXg6qQcgw |

Depends on how much torque it's got. go buy yourself a hs 645 servo it's a metal gered servo with 130 oz of torque I think?

Thanks a lot I still don't know if I'm going to go with a coverted servo or something like the bulldog. I like the scale looks of the bull dog but building my own would be cool. Are there any other companies out there that build winches?

Not that I know of. I personally would rather build than buy. But that's not always possible.
